Supporting Children & Families
The partnership between Assistance League of Sacramento and Katherine Johnson Middle School continues to be transformative. Through intentional collaboration, strategic funding, and a shared belief in student potential, this relationship has strengthened school climate, increased attendance, reduced suspensions, improved academic growth, and expanded direct support to our most vulnerable students.
Operation School Bell Middle School is our newest program. The focus areas are attendance, behavior, academics, and English Language learner support.

“The partnership between the Assistance League and Katherine Johnson Middle School has been truly transformative. What makes this relationship so impactful is that it goes far beyond a traditional donation model — the Assistance League brings a true “boots on the ground” approach to supporting our school community. Their involvement helps remove barriers for students and families by providing essential resources, supporting our PBIS program, investing in academic interventions, and strengthening family engagement. Because of this partnership, we have seen meaningful progress in areas such as attendance, student behavior, academic growth, and English Learner reclassification. Most importantly, their presence reinforces to our students and families that they are supported by a community that genuinely cares about their success.”
